Air Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe's national carrier, is set to relaunch daily flights between Harare and Johannesburg, reconnecting two major Southern African cities. The service, commencing on 29 July 2024, marks a significant step in the airline's efforts to re-establish its regional presence.

Flights will depart from RG Mugabe International Airport in Harare at 11:30, arriving at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 13:15. The return leg will leave Johannesburg at 14:00, touching down in Harare at 15:30.

The route will be serviced by an Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft, a regional jet known for its efficiency on short to medium-haul routes. This choice of aircraft suggests Air Zimbabwe is focusing on optimizing operations while meeting passenger demand.

This development is expected to boost business ties and tourism between Zimbabwe and South Africa, two countries with strong economic and cultural links. It also provides travellers with more options for connecting flights to other destinations within the region and beyond.
