Air Zimbabwe Launches Harare-Mutare Flights to Support Tourism Expo
Air Zimbabwe will operate daily return flights between Harare and Mutare from 8 to 14 September 2025, aimed at boosting access ahead of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo. The initiative forms part of the airline’s broader turnaround strategy, targeting increased domestic connectivity and support for Zimbabwe’s tourism revival, particularly in the Eastern Highlands region.
The temporary service is designed to accommodate exhibitors and visitors attending the Expo, and to promote multi-destination tourism with seamless connections to Victoria Falls. Air Zimbabwe CEO Edmund Makona confirmed the route is being tested for long-term viability, with potential for permanent inclusion. The airline has partnered with key stakeholders including the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and PayNow, which will allow for online ticket purchases.
