Air Tanzania Selects Sabre Technology to Support Network Expansion
Air Tanzania has selected Sabre to provide the technology foundation for its next phase of growth, adopting the SabreSonic Passenger Service System alongside Sabre Mosaic NDC IT. The agreement will see Tanzania's national carrier migrate its core passenger operations to Sabre on an accelerated timeline, with the implementation designed to enhance scalability, strengthen interline and codeshare capabilities, and support more personalised offer distribution across the global travel ecosystem.
The partnership positions Air Tanzania to modernise its commercial operations as it continues to expand an already growing network. The airline currently operates a fleet of 16 aircraft serving more than 35 destinations across Tanzania, Africa, Asia and the Middle East through over 120 weekly flights. Planned future destinations include London, Beijing, Jeddah, Juba and Maputo, subject to regulatory approvals. For the African tourism industry, the investment in modern retailing and distribution infrastructure signals Air Tanzania's intent to deepen its role as a key connectivity hub for East Africa and a growing gateway for inbound travel to Tanzania.
