Air Tanzania Launches Direct Dar es Salaam – Muscat Service
Air Tanzania has launched its first non-stop service between Dar es Salaam and Muscat, marking the first direct air link between Tanzania and Oman. The route, which operates three times weekly using Airbus A220-300 aircraft, was announced at the Tanzanian-Omani Tourism Promotional Forum in Muscat and was formally welcomed at Muscat International Airport during an official ceremony attended by senior government and aviation officials from both countries.
The new service is expected to boost tourism, trade and business travel between East Africa and the Gulf region, building on the two nations' longstanding historical and cultural ties. The launch follows strong early momentum, with Tanzania recording more than 29,000 visitors from Oman in the first half of 2026 alone. Both Air Tanzania and Oman Airports have described the route as a significant step in expanding regional connectivity and supporting the continued growth of Tanzania's tourism sector.
