Air Sierra Leone to launch Banjul – London and Freetown – Banjul services

Air Sierra Leone has announced new routes centred on Banjul, with direct Banjul – London Gatwick flights and a Freetown – Banjul service set to start in February 2026. Revealed on 26 January 2026, the expansion is aimed at strengthening West Africa – UK links and boosting intra‑regional connectivity, supporting tourism, trade and smoother travel through The Gambia.

Sukhjinder Mann, Group Chief Operating Officer of XE Jet Limited, the airline’s technical partner, said the Banjul – London route will reduce travel times and offer year‑round connectivity. Backed by Gambian and UK authorities, the move enhances Banjul’s role as a regional hub. Air Sierra Leone, introduced in late 2024, reports steady growth and further network expansion plans, with the new services expected to facilitate movement of people, goods and services across the sub‑region and Europe.
