Air Seychelles Launches Direct Rome Service to Boost Italian Market
Air Seychelles commenced a twice-weekly direct service between Rome Fiumicino and Mahé on 28 March, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays using Airbus A320neo aircraft with a technical stop in Hurghada. The launch was supported by a sales mission in Rome, conducted in collaboration with newly appointed General Sales Agent TAL Aviation Group, which brought together key tour operators, travel trade partners and media to promote the new route and the destination.
Italy ranks as the Seychelles' fourth-largest international market, recording 22,524 arrivals by end of 2025 - an 18% increase on 2024 and the highest growth rate among key European markets. The Rome mission included one-to-one meetings with leading tour operators, two trade webinars and a targeted press event. Air Seychelles has also confirmed the extension of its direct Paris Charles de Gaulle service until 28 June 2026, further reinforcing European connectivity to the archipelago.
