Air Peace Wins Brazil Approval, Opening Direct Nigeria - São Paulo Route
Nigeria's Air Peace has secured approval from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled passenger, cargo, and mail services between Nigeria and São Paulo, marking the first direct air link between Nigeria and Brazil by a Nigerian carrier. The authorisation, contained in ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, will reduce travel time between West Africa and South America from nearly two days - involving multiple stopovers - to approximately seven hours on a direct flight.
The approval forms part of Air Peace's broader international expansion drive, which includes pending landing permits for Toronto and New York, planned services to Manchester, Jeddah, and Guangzhou, and new West and Central African routes to Libreville, Conakry, Bamako, and Douala set to launch on 1 August 2026. The airline says the Nigeria - Brazil route is expected to stimulate tourism, trade, cargo operations, and people-to-people connections between the two nations, building on longstanding historical and cultural ties that have, until now, lacked direct air connectivity.
