Air Congo to launch sub regional flights from 22 March

Air Congo will begin sub‑regional services from 22 March 2026, launching Kinshasa – Johannesburg and Kinshasa – Entebbe, followed on 28 March by Douala and Cotonou, with Dar es Salaam from 4 April. The expansion will be supported by recent fleet additions, including a third aircraft received on 1 February, as the carrier steps up regional connectivity.

Formed as a joint venture between the DRC government (51 per cent) and Ethiopian Airlines (49 per cent), Air Congo began with two Boeing 737‑800s on domestic routes and now operates three aircraft, generating nearly US$40 million in revenue. Further growth is planned – four additional 737‑800s within a year and two more thereafter – with another aircraft due soon to bring the fleet to four, underpinning new links that support trade, mobility and tourism across Central and Southern Africa.
