Air Botswana's Windhoek flight launch delayed indefinitely

Air Botswana's planned launch of flights connecting Gaborone to Windhoek and Durban has been postponed indefinitely, according to a statement released by Air Connect Namibia on Wednesday.
The route, originally scheduled to commence on 1 October, was part of a joint announcement made by Air Connect and Air Botswana in September. Air Connect Namibia spokesperson Dan Kamati cited "unforeseen circumstances" for the delay, with a new launch date yet to be confirmed.
Bisey /Uirab, chairperson of Air Connect Namibia and CEO of Namibia Airports Company, offered "unreserved apologies" for the setback, attributing it to factors beyond their control.
Despite this delay, other airlines are proceeding with plans to enhance connections to Namibia. FlySafair will introduce twice-weekly flights between Cape Town and Windhoek starting 22 October. Additionally, South African Airways (SAA) is set to add a third daily frequency on its Johannesburg-Windhoek route from 27 October, utilising its modern A320 fleet.
These developments aim to improve regional connectivity and offer travellers increased flexibility and choice when flying to and from Namibia's capital.
