African Parks ends Mount Mulanje partnership
African Parks has announced the conclusion of its Incubation Partnership Agreement with the Mount Mulanje Conservation Trust, originally established in February 2020 to support the long‑term sustainable management of the Mount Mulanje Forest Reserve. The partnership concluded on 12 December 2025 following the required notice period.
African Parks stated the decision aligns with governance and accountability standards, thanked stakeholders for their support, and signalled openness to future engagement. The shift is relevant to nature‑based tourism in southern Malawi, where conservation management influences visitor access, community benefits and the protection of key hiking and biodiversity sites.
