Africa's Travel Indaba 2026 Takes Shape with Strong Buyer and Exhibitor Response
Preparations for Africa's Travel Indaba 2026, taking place from 11 to 14 May 2026 in Durban, are progressing well, with Synergy Business Events appointed as the official event management company. Early market response has been encouraging, with 528 qualified buyers confirmed from 34 countries, including key markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, India, Japan, Australia, the Netherlands, and Brazil. Notably, 210 of these buyers - 137 hosted and 73 non-hosted - are first-time participants, spanning both established and emerging markets, while new African continent buyers have been confirmed from Botswana, Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, and Namibia, reflecting growing intra-African engagement.
On the exhibitor front, 479 applications had been received as at 26 March 2026, with stand allocation and related logistics set to commence in the coming weeks. The online diary is currently scheduled to open on 24 April 2026, with organisers assessing whether this can be brought forward to maximise business meeting opportunities. A noticeable increase in non-hosted buyer applications - particularly from the United States - points to sustained global interest in Africa's tourism offering ahead of one of the continent's most significant annual trade events.
