AFRAA and AfDB to host Nairobi workshop on airline capital and connectivity, 25–26 February 2026

The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) will hold an in-person Airlines Awareness Workshop on Capital & Connectivity in Nairobi, Kenya, on 25–26 February 2026. Convened under AfDB’s Integrated Aviation Transformation Program (IATP), the event aims to advance practical, bankable solutions to address high operating costs, limited access to long-term capital, fleet renewal pressures, infrastructure gaps and evolving sustainability requirements – issues that directly affect regional connectivity, trade and tourism.

The workshop will bring together airline leaders with aircraft lessors, OEMs, banks, development finance institutions, export credit agencies, airport operators and regulators for sessions on airline economics and bankability, aircraft financing and leasing, cargo and trade corridors, airport and airspace infrastructure, MRO and skills, and sustainability including SAF. With a focus on progressing IATP pilot transactions that support SAATM and AfCFTA objectives, airlines are invited to nominate one to two senior decision-makers (e.g. CEO, CFO, COO, Strategy, Finance or Fleet Planning) and confirm participation by 10 February 2026.
