Adrian Gardiner's Legacy Continues: Founders Lodge by Mantis Introduces Next Innovation with Premier Photographic Wildlife Hide
Founders Lodge by Mantis, nestled in the heart of the Eastern Cape Province, celebrates the unveiling of one of the province's first professional photographic wildlife hides. This remarkable addition marks another milestone in the legacy of Adrian Gardiner, a pioneer of rewilding who has dedicated over 30 years to transforming the landscape into a premier wildlife destination.
Adrian Gardiner's vision and dedication have helped shape the Eastern Cape into a wildlife haven that competes with the finest destinations across the African continent. Now, at 81 years old, Gardiner continues to innovate, embodying a spirit of pioneering conservationism.
Teaming up with one of Africa's leading wildlife photographers, Nelis Wolmarans, Gardiner brings to fruition a project that promises unparalleled opportunities for both professional and amateur photographers. The hide offers a unique vantage point to capture breathtaking images of wildlife up close and personal, including the resident white rhino "crash" that frequents the watering hole for a refreshing bath.
The journey to the hide begins with a 35-meter tunnel adorned with Wolmarans' captivating photography on one side and conservation quotes from early rewilding pioneers on the other. This tunnel serves as a poignant tribute to the collective efforts that have transformed the province into the wildlife sanctuary it is today.
Upon entering the hide, guests are greeted with comfortable, adjustable chairs, a refreshment station, and a charging dock, all serviced by the lodge staff. As night falls, the waterhole is illuminated, offering guests the rare opportunity to photograph nocturnal creatures that frequent the area.
In a groundbreaking partnership, Founders Lodge has joined forces with AfriCam, a world-renowned live streaming company known for its wildlife cameras across Southern Africa. AfriCam has selected Founders Lodge as the inaugural location in the Eastern Cape to install a live streaming camera, allowing guests to relive their experiences from anywhere in the world.
For three decades, Founders Lodge has been a beacon of innovation, driving forward initiatives that redefine eco-tourism. Adrian Gardiner's tireless dedication to conservation has transformed Founders Lodge into an innovation hub, constantly pioneering new experiences for visitors.
As Founders Lodge unveils its latest addition, we eagerly anticipate the continuation of Gardiner's legacy, inspiring future generations to cherish and preserve the natural wonders of the Eastern Cape.
