A New Home for Ngorongoro Crater Camp
A renewed chapter in the heart of Ngorongoro: our newly relocated Ngorongoro Crater Camp has returned.
Set on an elevated site with sweeping Serengeti views, the camp sits within Tanzania’s UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, is home to more than 25,000 animals, offering exceptional game viewing throughout the year. Just 25 minutes from the crater descent road, the camp is ideally positioned for both fly-in and overland journeys.
The camp has been completely reimagined, with 10 exquisitely designed tented suites which offer greater space and privacy. Interiors feature polished hardwood floors, muslin-draped king-size beds and glass doors opening onto private decks with expansive views. The design balances clean, contemporary lines with a strong sense of place, while the communal dining, lounge and bar areas highlight African craftsmanship, with 97% of the interiors locally made and custom designed.
Guest experiences extend well beyond the camp and game drives within the crater, from visits to an authentic Maasai boma to the Olduvai Gorge Museum, one of the world’s most important archaeological sites. Seasonal excursions to the Ndutu Plains during the Great Migration, as well as visits to the Nasera rock art and the Shifting Sands, are not to be missed.
