Nomad’s Safari competition delivers life - changing medical outreach in remote Tanzania

Nomad Tanzania's recent safari competition has raised £13,100, the money raised will be used to host additional ‘beds for meds’ outreach clinics in the coming months of 2025.
Nomad’s ‘beds for meds’ programme reaches villages that sit far beyond conventional healthcare networks – think of it as the ultimate house call - using beds in Nomad camps and their logistical network to transport specialist medical teams, these clinics provide essential healthcare services to remote communities on the edge of Tanzania’ national parks.
The competition's winner will experience a six-night sojourn through southern Tanzania, splitting their time between Ruaha and Nyerere. At Kigelia, Ruaha - ancient baobabs create a vast wilderness setting, while Sand Rivers, Nyerere - offers a spectacular position along the mighty Rufiji River.
"We want to say a huge thank you to everyone that entered our safari competition, every penny raised will have a real impact adding additional clinics to our calendar. Over the past year or so, our ‘beds for meds’ programme has given over 6,000 individuals the opportunity to see medical specialists from eye doctors to dentists.” says Lucy Cole, head of conservation and community projects at Nomad.
While guests explore these extraordinary wild places, their presence supports tangible positive change in local communities. Every safari becomes part of a larger story of conservation and community care.
