Overview

The Safari Series is a collection of nature-based businesses working to create economic uplift in Africa's wild spaces.

On one side of the collection is (soon to be) three properties: Moon's Camp in Lolldaiga Hills, Chuchungi House on Lamu island and Ontulili Camp on Mt. Kenya.

Every property is owner-managed - guests are welcomed personally into the owner's home, in some of Kenya's most beautiful and least-crowded landscapes. Rates are built to work for mid-budget groups and families, and guests who thrive at our properties are those who love to engage and be active - walking, driving vintage Land Rovers, fishing, snorkelling and cultural visits, so kids and adults alike stay engaged well beyond the game drive. We shy away from the old safari saying 'once in a lifetime' by having a team who are exclusively from the area close to the property and welcoming them into their home, time and time again. With a commitment to conservation of these stunning landscapes, guests leave with a feeling of fulfillment and having made memories for life.

On the other side of the network is the African Private Guides Network. APGN is a network of Africa's best, brightest and most up-and-coming private safari guides. With 50+ guides and growing, spanning 20 African countries, our guides can be added into an existing itinerary to elevate any safari - bringing genuine local knowledge, language skills and cultural depth that a standard, unguided safari can offer.

We work with travel partners to connect them with a private safari guide for a trip they are organising. Many of our guides have a speciality (walking, photography, history, ornithology, etc.) or guide in another language (Russian, Mandarin, French, Spanish, Hindi, etc.). We have a variety of pricepoints, starting from a daily guiding fee of $100 up to $1500 per day, meaning that adding a private guide to a trip is not just for luxury itineraries.
