Continuing the lodge's ongoing sustainability goals, Royal Zambezi Lodge has announced the completion of an ambitious solar project: Royal is now 100% solar! With an impressive 360 solar panels, a 150kva inverter and 2x 100kw batteries, the team have used this time to upskill and work together to achieve this green initiative during the standstill in global travel.

The luggage allowance applicable to travel routes between Lusaka, Lower Zambezi (Royal Airstrip), Livingstone and Mfuwe on RZL flights has increased with immediate effect. The new luggage limit of 15kg's check-in luggage plus 5kg's hand luggage is valid on all flights going forward during all seasons. Operated by Royal Zambezi Lodge, these flights are open for general consumption between all of the routes as mentioned above.

Royal Zambezi Lodge (RZL) in Zambia's Lower Zambezi has recently joined hands with First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (FQM), Zambia's largest overseas investor, to provide fodder and salt licks for the herbivores in the Country's Lower Zambezi protected areas. As the recent drought and lowest river level in many years show signs of wreaking havoc with animal populations, at RZLs suggestion FQM has stepped in to add a further helping hand to its already diverse range of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSRs).

In 2018, Royal Zambezi Lodge launched “seat-in-plane” charter flights connecting Royal Airstrip, Livingstone and Lusaka for the 2019 safari season. We understand and appreciate that the journey is just as important as the destination and that is why making the Lower Zambezi National Park more accessible to the intrepid traveller, along with being able to connect to other local destinations around Zambia, is essential to a holistic African experience.

Royal Zambezi Lodge are excited to announce the launch of scheduled charter flights to connect passengers to Royal Airstrip and the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia. As an accommodation provider in the Lower Zambezi, the company identified the need to improve access for travellers wanting to connect between Livingstone, Royal Airstrip and Lusaka.
