WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED, SHOULD YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID IN BOTSWANA. It’s so nice to see the world starting to travel again. There seems to be something upbeat in the air and a really positive feeling as travellers take to the skies again in hot pursuit of wild open spaces and their freedom.

As part of vaccination and sterilization outreach initiative in November 2021, we worked together with the Maun Animal Welfare Society (MAWS) and Botswana Predator Conservation Trust to vaccinate village dogs in order to protect the African Wild Dog population.

With so much up in the air recently around Covid and travel... we wanted to put your minds at ease. Here is a quick update around all things Covid and Natural Selection.

We are excited to announce that we have added Royal Tree Lodge to our portfolio of unique Botswana camps. This 250-hectare private reserve on the banks of the Thamalakane river is packed with plains game, ideal habitats of river, riverine and dry savannah and offers an abundance of bird life in the area. Best of all, it is only a 20-minute drive or 5-minute helicopter from Maun airport. So as you can imagine – we are putting the champers on ice. Getting all our ducks in a row and slowly giving Royal Tree Lodge the Natural Selection royal treatment - ready to hit the ground running for 2022. Now under new management, you’ll be delighted to hear that Royal Tree Lodge is getting a stylish new revamp!

Switching off has always been top priority for us at Natural Selection and the sheer thought of exploring the pristine waterways of the Okavango Delta from the privacy of your bedroom, totally floats our boat!

After decades of setting the standard in the Kalahari, the iconic Jack’s Camp in Botswana has undergone a full rebuild and has reopened with a luxurious new look. Rebuilt during 2020, the brand-new Jack’s Camp pays homage to the property’s enduring and much-loved 1940s campaign style.

As Namibia opens its borders to international travellers, so Natural Selection have opened the doors to their newest property, Kwessi Dunes. The new property is set in the heart of the vast 215,000 hectare NamibRand Nature Reserve, with easy access to Sossusvlei’s iconic rusty red sand dunes and the photogenic Deadvlei.

Natural Selection is raising money for its COVID-19 Village Support Program through an art auction taking place on Facebook on the 20th of May. Up for grabs is a custom picture by South African artist Jemima Sargent. Those who have visited Natural Selection’s Lekkerwater Beach Lodge and Hoanib Valley Camp will be familiar with her work which decorates the camps.

Natural Selection have released some of their favourite wildlife sightings videos to their trade partners to encourage safari wanderlust. Shot on location at Natural Selection’s Botswana camps, the beautiful footage showcases the wonder of an African safari. From the zebra migration of the Makgadikgadi pans to herds of elephant wading through the verdant Okavango, the videos will inspire and delight.
