Borana Conservancy has teamed up with Days for Girls to break the silence through holistic menstrual health education and the distribution of washable and re-usable sanitary towels in Northern Kenya.

The Lewa-Borana Landscape and Loisaba Conservancy have released cross-conservancy COVID protocols. As the world came to a standstill earlier this year nature has taken this time to heal and rejuvenate. The wildlife population on the Lewa-Borana Landscape and Loisaba Conservancy is becoming year on year more extraordinary and more diverse. The Laikipia Ewaso Eco System holds the highest diversity of large mammal species of any site of its size in the world.

2018 was a fantastic year for rhinos between Borana Conservancy and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.  The Lewa-Borana Landscape is proud to report a total of 18 rhino births in 2018, supported by over five years of zero poaching.  Borana Lodge is the only property on this landscape to commit all retained earnings from tourism to the sustainable conservation of land, wildlife and building local livelihoods in and around Borana Conservancy.

This unique family home, found at the heart of Borana Conservancy, is now available for exclusive bookings. Sleeping twelve in six bedrooms, Lengishu has been built entirely from sustainable materials. The house boasts a breathtaking infinity pool, an art room, a gym, large vaulted ceilings and a pétanque pitch.

Riding Wild Borana is extremely excited to announce the launch of our first set departure date, with an option to include the Kenyan Coast. The 7 night riding safari will take place from the 1st February 2019 and will combine fly camping and lodge stays across an ecosystem which is renowned for it's wildlife conservation.

It has been a busy couple of months on the Lewa-Borana Landscape. In early February 20 rhino were darted in order to be ear notched and to have trackers implanted in their horns. Guests of Borana Lodge were invited along to take part in the activity, giving them an incredible opportunity to witness conservation in action.

As always, Borana's conservation efforts are at the heart of everything we do, and with six Black Rhino births this year we seem to be on the right track. Borana Lodge is the only lodge in the area which invests all profits into conservation. Without the ongoing support of our guests, and agents both past and future, this would not have been possible.
