Overview

We are a fully registered travel company specializing in carefully curated mid-range safaris across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. Our safaris are designed to offer more than traditional game drives, incorporating elements of walking—either within national parks or in Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs). We place strong emphasis on authentic cultural experiences, built on long-standing and respectful relationships with local communities. As the company’s director, I hold a BSc in Conservation Sciences and previously worked with the Tanzania Natural Resources Forum for two years before founding Tarakwai. During this time, I gained valuable insight into ethical and sustainable tourism practices, learning alongside respected industry leaders such as CC Africa, Nomad, Sokwe/Asilia, Hoopoe, and others. We are committed to partnering with lodges and camps that prioritize environmental sustainability and actively support surrounding communities. Currently, our primary focus is on the northern and southern safari circuits, with Zanzibar offered as an extension to the overall experience. Kind regards, Jay Aggarwal Director
