Hilltop Lodge has one of the finest settings in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, an unfenced but private part of the Kruger Park. It’s perched on the hillside with wide angle views over the bush and views to the distant mountains of the Drakensberg escarpment. Below lie the expansive Mbali Dam and the Nhlaralumi River, where you may be lucky to see elephant, and other wildlife, come to quench their thirst.

One of its winning charms is the popular waterhole right below the dining deck, much loved by elephant. Between game drives, you could enjoy a game-viewing experience of note just sitting on the deck as wildlife comes and goes from the water.

Expertly guided game drives in open 4×4 game drive vehicles can be tweaked to suit your party of family or friends. (Up to a point. Bear in mind that hungry animals on the hunt may not wait for a teenager’s sleep schedule!)

Situated in the Greater Knysna Area, above the quaint town of Sedgefield, along South Africa’s Garden Route, this eco paradise awaits, offering sweeping views over beaches, mountains, lagoons and a fynbos wonderland.
Our nine room lodge and self-contained cottage are perched high on the dunes overlooking the Indian Ocean, surrounded by a 600 hectare pristine fynbos reserve. The estate abounds with plains game such as eland, zebra, bushbuck and waterbuck so there is plenty to see in all directions.

This charming self-catering cottage has a lovely secluded setting away from the main lodge, with spectacular views of both the Ocean and the lakes behind.
It comprises two en suite bedrooms with king (or twin) beds and a loft area with two single beds for older children.

Flanking a large dam in the southern Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, Simbavati Waterside was conceptualised, designed and built to be a natural extension of the pure utopian Klaserie wilderness from which it draws its inspiration.
Water is the source of life. Throughout the year countless animal species – including predators, elephants, hippo and buffalo – are drawn to the dam to cool off and quench thirst (sometimes in herds numbering hundreds). Here the game viewing never stops, and you literally become part of your own private Africa for an utterly immersive and sensory safari experience.
