Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a leading wildlife conservancy in Kenya, located in Laikipia County between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range. Originally established as a working cattle ranch, Ol Pejeta was transformed into a wildlife conservancy in 2004, pioneering an innovative model that integrates wildlife conservation, sustainable livestock production, and community development. Today, Ol Pejeta is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five, and is internationally recognised for its conservation impact. It is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and the last refuge of the world’s two remaining northern white rhinos. The conservancy also provides a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees, the only place in Kenya where they can be seen.
