Overview

Lion Camp is a hidden gem located in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, an animal refuge and pristine ecosystem – carefully preserved and fiercely protected. Easily accessible from Mfuwe Airport, the lodge operates between May and October. Sense the magic of Africa when you experience the authentic wilderness, where over 60 animal species and 400 bird species all live off the Luangwa River – the lifeblood of the Luangwa Valley. Feel the natural tranquility of the lodge, which is unfenced, offering safaris as they should be, teaming with wildlife and vehicles that are few and far between.

Lion Camp provides the idyllic balance of authentic bush and luxurious comfort. Elevated on stilts above the Luangwa Valley floor, the lodge has a ‘tree house’ feel that allows you to walk safely and freely without an escort. Meander along the winding walkways that take you from the spacious main lodge, where you can relax in cozy private nooks and seating areas, or enjoy a cocktail at the bar after a refreshing dip in the pool; to the luxury canvas and thatch suites, all with shaded private deck areas overlooking spectacular, panoramic views of the oxbow lagoon.

Embrace the thrill of the safari with one of the lodge’s five qualified guides, each with their own game viewing vehicle. Take your pick from exciting game drives and special interest safaris to guided walking safaris, bird watching and stargazing. Lion Camp is an unforgettable adventure.
