Overview

House in the Wild is an owner operated boutique lifestyle lodge located on a bend in the Mara River with 10 rooms. There is a main lounge and dining area with a beautiful swahili bar, a swimming pool with a thatch gazebo and bar. Dining takes place either privately in a cosy setting under the stars, by a fireplace in the gazebo or dining room, or on your private verandah. Sundowners are set up on the lawn in the evenings, or out on the plains on your drive.

This is the perfect safari destination for couples, smaller groups or families. In the evening guests can meet around the campfire for a drink and have the chance to catch up on the days sightings. Dining is either under the stars, in the gazebo by the pool, in the dining room by the fire, or on the verandah in the private rooms.

Each group gets their own private safari vehicle and guide throughout their stay.

Leap of Faith - a rewildling story

House in the Wild is celebrating 10 years of the Enonkishu Conservancy, and it has certainly grown up. Based on the border of Ol Chorro Oiruwa Conservancy in the Maasai Mara, House in the Wild has been part of a pioneering re-wilding project where an area that was previously severely overgrazed with very little wildlife has now been opened up to conservation and now biodiversity is thriving.  It is an inspriational story of how wildlife can bounce back and communities can truly benefit from eco-tourism.
