Overview

Overview Our story began in 2008 when Jean-Michel Pitot and his family sought to create something new in the Mauritian hospitality industry. Their vision? More than just hotels—celebrating the island’s culture, caring for the environment, and supporting local communities.

Since day one, we’ve made bold choices that reflect this vision—a 100% local experience, removing single-use plastics from the guest experience, and breaking traditional hospitality norms by letting our team express their individuality (yes, tattoos, and beards are welcome at Attitude!). Did you guess it? We are a purpose-driven company.

Our motto: Hotels that do good—both for those who experience them and those who create them. At the heart of it all are 10 hotels, one head office (with ambitions of becoming a third place!), over 1,600 team members, and exciting projects like #KonpoztoLamizik, #IleMauriceMonAmour podcasts, and #TalkSeries.

Oh, and did we mention we’re B Corp certified? It’s like earning a Michelin star (or two) for a chef—recognising our strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility and inspiring us to go even further! Attitude, in numbers: 🚀 Founded in 2008 🤍 +1600 Family Members 🏨 9 hotels (3* and 4*) + 1 hotel (5*) 🌴 2 countries: Mauritius and Zanzibar (coming sooooon!) 1️⃣ Attitude Foundation 🏆 2022 - 2025: #1 Best Workplace in Mauritius (Great Place To Work®) 👩‍🍳 100+ professions spanning hospitality, catering, customer service, marketing, and communication 🧑‍🎓 Attitude Academy VET by EHL (in collaboration with EHL Business School, Switzerland - the world’s leading hospitality school)

Created in 2014, Attitude Foundation is committed to preserving our marine and coastal environment, promoting what makes Mauritius so rich in culture, arts and crafts, and supporting the local community through social and solidarity initiatives.

How do we do this? By providing financial support for projects that resonate with our fundamental values, we are working towards inclusive and impactful development, always putting people at the heart of our actions.

We ensure that every stray receives the best care available. From vaccinations, sterilisation, skin treatments, treatment of illness and injury, to the simplest things such as food and shelter, our strays are cared for by dedicated teams of professionals, foster carers and volunteers.

Fully vaccinated to the U.K. standard, health checked, snap dx4 and brucella tested, microchipped and keyhole sterilised, we make the adoption process as simple as possible for our special cases.
