Abercrombie & Kent was born on the plains of Africa in 1962 when Geoffrey Kent and his parents pioneered a new style of luxury adventure travel with little more than a reconditioned Bedford truck, a sterling silver ice bucket and a bold vision.

Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the philanthropic arm of Abercrombie & Kent (A&K). The organization traces its beginnings back to 1982 when Jorie Butler Kent, AKP Co-Chairman, together with A&K Founder, Chairman and CEO Geoffrey Kent, first raised funds for conservation efforts in the Masai Mara National Reserve of Kenya.
