Join us for an exclusive webinar hosted by Amos Wekesa, the Ugandan founder of Great Lakes Safaris and a trailblazer in African safari tourism. As one of the few African safari lodge owners in an industry with limited indigenous ownership, Amos has redefined what it means to deliver authentic and sustainable safari experiences in Uganda and now in Tanzania. His inspiring journey from humble beginnings to becoming a leader in East African tourism sets the stage for the companies exciting expansion.
Great Lakes Safaris are expanding their horizons with the launch of Mwamba Lodge Tarangire in Tanzania's pristine Randilen Wildlife Management Area, near Tarangire National Park. This marks the company’s first step into Tanzania, with further plans to establish operations in the iconic Serengeti in 2026. Amos will unveil the rebranding of Uganda Lodges into The Great Lakes Collection, unifying boutique lodges across Uganda, and now Tanzania under one cohesive brand that promises elevated guest experiences. In addition Great Lakes Collection will be opening Pabidi Lodge in late 2025, a new tented camp located near the renowned Budongo Forest, offering guests a luxurious retreat amidst the forest's incredible biodiversity and chimpanzee trekking opportunities.
Gain insights into Great Lakes Safaris’ commitment to community-driven initiatives, and conservation efforts and how Amos’ leadership continues to shape the future of African owned safaris, creating meaningful connections between travellers and the heart of the wild.
