RwandAir to Receive the Largest Airbus in East Africa
It is anticipated that by the month of September 2016, RwandAir the national airline of Rwanda will receive delivery of its very first broad-body aircraft - an A330-200 Airbus.
Based on information received from Kigali the capital of Rwanda, this airline is currently working flat out, together with the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA), to get all necessary regulatory requirements in place, including a complete approval by the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority since this kind of aircraft has never been registered within Rwanda before, not even in any country within the East African region.
This aircraft, whose manufacturer’s serial number is MSN1741, is currently being assembled and the process is going on well and on schedule. The aircraft will soon get the RwandAir corporate colors within the Airbus paint-shop in the few months to come ahead of the final cabin out-fittings are finished. At that point the aircraft will be subjected to different tests both on the ground and in the air before its final delivery in the month of September in Rwanda-Kigali.
Still this year, RwandAir will receive a bigger delivery of the second airbus; A330-300 variant schedule to be delivered in the month of December.
The airline expects other deliveries mid this year including the Boeing B737-800NG Sky-Interior, which will increase the fleet of the B737 to five aircrafts.
