Atta CEO to step down next May

Atta has shown spectacular growth in the last few years and now has approximately 600 members in 22 countries in Africa and around the globe that constitute the buyers and suppliers of tourism to Africa.

Nigel Vere Nicoll, our Chief Executive, will have been at the helm for 20 years next May and has informed the Board of Directors that he wishes to step down as CEO. Nigel is very well known across the industry and has shown unique qualities, skill and experience over two decades that he has used to raise Atta to the influential position it now holds as the Voice of African Tourism. It is envisaged that he will retain a senior role within the company that will not only strengthen our Association but will ensure a smooth transition for his successor the new Chief Executive.

The Board of Directors are now seeking to fill this vacancy by appointing a new Chief Executive to join the small but highly efficient team. This role will be shaped and molded to suit the future, and of necessity will be flexible to support and guide the new CEO.

Candidates will need to impress the Board that they can continue to grow the association by fulfilling the goals that they have identified for the future, implicit in their strategic plan

The CEO of Atta holds a respected and important role in the tourism industry and applicants for this position must have worked in the tourism trade at senior level.

Applicants should email attaching a brief CV. Suitable candidates will then be sent a more detailed job description taking the application to the next stage.
