This Week at Atta HQ

Welcome to the last Friday of February! Can you believe it? I feel like it was only yesterday I was welcoming you to this month – now on to March.

This week Nigel has been working away on some admin and paperwork in the background, and with the less said about that the better, I will move on swiftly.

On Tuesday next week, Nigel and I will be off to Berlin for ITB. We have 13 exhibitors this year, spread out over the week and weekend, and will be on Stand 120 in Hall 20. Do come and say hello if you are around; I will be available to discuss any aspects of your membership should you wish to do so. Additionally, if you can, come to our networking event on Wednesday night, sponsored by Intimate Places. More information is here, including ticket information (it will be free but I would appreciate it if you could RSVP all the same).

We would like to welcome new members The Sleeping Warrior Lodge and Camp of Kenya, Luxury Africa of South Africa, Zimba Safaris based in the Netherlands, and Grand Dédale Country House from South Africa. We are, as ever, looking forward to getting to know them better over the coming months.

The latest Latin American newsletter went out this week in Portuguese and Spanish. If you are able to read either of those languages, please feel free to have a look!

Lina spent some time arranging a new Atta banner this week. We expect it back in time for ITB Berlin, and will be proudly displaying it there. This is a beautiful piece of work, and we are looking forward to seeing it when it has been printed.

We had another excellent webinar yesterday, this time from Saruni. You can view the recording here; if you would like to host your own, please contact ops@atta.travel.

Lina also sent out your weekly update on fraud – this was relating to Cybercrime, and can be read here. The roadshows are also in the works, in partnership with On Show Solutions and Eva Stenmarck Travel Marketing; more information will be available very soon. She also spent some time helping members better understand your member benefits.

We have spent some time on certificates this week and are nearly there with all of them. Some of you towards the end of the alphabet have not received them yet – please do not worry about this; you will have them before the end of today!

Coranda’s Handy Tip of the Week today will enable you to keep up to date if you have missed any of our daily news emails; you can see all our stories here. Please note you need to be logged in to see Member-only news. For latest news from fellow members, go here. Our web developers are currently busily implementing a system that will make this more searchable, but for now you will have to scroll through the pages to get older stories.

I have been busy following up with exhibitions planning, including the five that are nearly upon us. After ITB Berlin (for which planning is hopefully all wrapped up by now), will be WTM Latin America, then WTM Africa, We Are Africa and Indaba. We have some availability on all of these except ITB Berlin and  We Are Africa – please contact info@atta.travel if you would like to book. The sooner the better!

In addition to this and the regular day-to-day stuff, I am continuing to search out your news to post in our newsletter – if you have anything of significance coming up, please let us know so that we do not miss it!

Next week I will be writing this to you from Berlin…the first person to mention the weekly newsletter to me on the stand will get a drink on me!
