Safari Clothing, Luggage, and Gear Expedition-Tested to be Tough

Expedition-tested.png

Every item available from The Safari Store has been expedition-tested under extreme African conditions to ensure we can vouch for quality off the back of real experience.

This also means our in-house products have been honed to meet our high standards – and our customers’.

In the early years of developing fabrics, when they weren’t up to scratch, we abandoned them, re-developed them, took them back to Africa and, when we were satisfied, had them independently tested. If the straps of a bag didn’t sit comfortably on a long walking safari, the design was changed until it was perfected. Expedition-testing is part of our assurance in providing only the best travel products no traveller to Africa (or any warm climate destination) should be without.

Founder of The Safari Store, Steve Adams, and artist-explorer Brent Dodd embarked on an unforgettable river adventure on an expedition-testing mission – sailing the Zambezi on a Hobie Tandem Island. With little space on deck and treacherous riverine conditions, the pair set out to explore the Zambezi between Ngonye and Victoria Falls – a first by boat with a sail. From portaging rapids to mishaps along the way, this adventure was a true test of the gear, a testament to character, and a modern tale of African exploration.
