Almanara luxury resort in Diani has long been famed for its high quality cuisine as part of their five star villa and boutique hotel experience. Over recent years their restaurant Sails, which overlooks the quieter Galu end of the white sands of Diani Beach, has grown a reputation both with local Kenyans and international clientele as one of the leading restaurants on the Kenya coast.

March 2018 sees the arrival of a new Executive Chef, Anthony Huth, a third generation Kenyan who grew up cooking alongside his mum and Christopher, the family cook. Since then, his passion for food has never faltered. Having trained in South Africa, Anthony’s career has grown from cooking at the Talisman Restaurant in Nairobi to working with Jamie Oliver in the UK. Anthony replaces Luke Doig who has left Almanara to pursue educating his children in the UK.

Anthony has a passion for celebrating the freshest local seasonal and organic produce that the Kenya coast can offer.  By creating new signature dishes such as Prawn Risotto with garlic, chilli, lemongrass, cherry tomatoes & rocket finished with grilled prawns and lemon zest or Harissa Seared Tuna on a bed of couscous salad with Salsa Verde and herby yoghurt, Anthony plans to create a fine dining experience which will continue to grow Almanara’s existing culinary reputation.

Sails restaurant can be booked by residents or non-residents local to the Diani area.
