Wilderness Safaris Namibia Announces Alexandra Margull as MD

Wilderness Safaris is delighted to announce the appointment of Alexandra Margull as the new Managing Director for Wilderness Safaris Namibia. Alexandra succeeds Mike Wassung, who after many years of service to not only the company’s Namibia business but to Wilderness Safaris as a whole, will in turn take on the position of Executive Chairman of the Namibian operation with immediate effect.

“Alexandra’s experience, talent and passion for the people of Wilderness Safaris, as well as her dedication to improving performance and service makes her the ideal candidate for this role. We are confident that she will continue to drive our Namibian operation to even greater heights under the ongoing mentorship from Mike Wassung as Executive Chairman”, said Wilderness Safaris CEO, Keith Vincent.

Alexandra joined Wilderness Safaris in July 2005 as the Human Resources (HR) Manager for Namibia, bringing with her a wealth of experience in business coaching and people management skills. She moved into a Group role in 2010 and was subsequently promoted to the Executive Committee as Chief HR Officer in 2013. She also filled the role of Assistant Managing Director for Wilderness Safaris Namibia, playing a vital part in driving service delivery, training and staff welfare in this region.

In addition to talent management and people development across the Group, Alexandra set up the Wilderness Safaris Business School in 2011, with the first intake of 29 participants starting in November 2011. This created a powerful forum for the company’s leaders and management staff to gain a holistic understanding of the business, learn new leadership and business skills and encourage change management to drive the business forwards. She has now taken the Wilderness Business School to the next level, with the recent launch of the Wilderness Leadership Academy. Alexandra will continue to drive this important initiative and oversee the Group’s strategic HR plans.
