10th anniversary for The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille in Laikipia

The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille, Laikipia's first all villa property is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Four spectacular villas provide guests a truly special and memorable stay in northern Kenya's stunning Laikipia region.

Ol Lentille is a pioneering conservation and community project donated to the local community by its creators John and Gill Elias who live at the lodge and manage the property, the objective is to protect the wildlife and via sustainable tourism give back and benefit the local community.

Ol Lentille is a fantastic example of how private partnerships can successfully work with the community in Kenya. Through private donations over $5 million has been generated since the lodge opened to build four schools and numerous classrooms at other schools, a hospital and water sanitation projects.

The wildlife movements and populations have dramatically changed since the lodge opened in 2007, Ol Lentille has created and protected a spectacular 40,000 acre private conservation area for future generations.

Tourism here is greatly helping and improving the lives of the local communities, each stay helps protect and conserve the area.
