Jenman African Safaris gets tour Fair Trade approved

Jenman African Safaris’ first tour has been certified by Fair Trade Tourism. As tourists become more eco-conscious, travel companies and tour operators need to adapt.

The company philosophy at Jenman African Safaris is about making a difference with our tours and the places in southern and East Africa we travel to.

At the Jenman headquarters in Cape Town, the company has also started implementing eco-friendly measures such as using a worm farm to produce compost, recycle glass and paper, re-use paper for printing etc.

As Africa’s leading responsible tourism organization, Fair Trade Tourism certification signifies our dedication as a company to operating sustainably and respecting the human rights, cultures and environments we visit. We are now approved to sell Fair Trade holidays and committed to the Fair Trade code of conduct.

What is Fair Trade?

Fair Trade Tourism is a non-profit organization, which is leading the way forward in the development of sustainable and responsible tourism in southern Africa and beyond. It promotes awareness about responsible tourism to travellers, assisting tourism businesses to operate more sustainably and facilitating the Fair Trade Tourism certification program across southern Africa. The Fair Trade Tourism label stands for fair wages and working conditions, fair purchasing and operations, equitable distribution of benefits and respect for human rights, culture and the environment. It also ensures that the people who contribute their land, resources, labour and knowledge to tourism are the ones who reap the benefits
