Peace for the elephants
In Tanzania and especially for Selous, Valentines days has a special meaning this year as it is dedicated to the slaughtering of its elephants by international syndicates.
In the last census only 13,000 elephants are left in Selous, making it to the lowest figure ever since 1975, where 150’000 elephants were counted.
As the elephants (like the bees) are important for the flora, creating food to other species and are making tracks into the bush, so other animals can move, the eradication of this marvellous animals will endanger the entire ecosystem of Selous and is much more than just the eradication of a species. So with the elephant the biggest ecosystem of Africa is also endangered.
Valentines day of this year must be given to the elephants and not only people.
Thank you.
