Mohammed Hersi Appointed Chief Executive Officer Of Heritage Hotels, Kenya

Heritage Hotels is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Hersi as the new chief executive officer.

Hersi joins the group with over 20 years experience as a seasoned hotelier in Kenya’s hospitality industry. His previous role was at Sarova Hotels, Resorts & Lodges as regional general manager of the 338 bedroom Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, along with two lodges in Tsavo.

Prior to this, Hersi held the position of general manger of the first classified beach resort in Kenya Nyali Beach Hotel under Block Hotels Management. He is also an alumni of Kenya’s pioneer hotel school Kenya Utalii College and holds an MBA from Regent Business School Durban in South Africa.

Mohammed Hersi commented on his new position “I am delighted to be joining the Heritage Hotels team at such an exciting time for the group. Top of our agenda is the remodelling of the Voyager Beach Resort, while retaining its old charm, and the expanding of the brand into Nairobi. With such an experienced, dedicated team in place, I’m confident Heritage Hotels future will go from strength to strength.”

Alongside this he will continue to develop the work it does with local communities and the environment, ensuring the group continues to develop a sustainable tourism strategy.

Going forward, the group will continue to educate consumers about the chain’s offerings and develop closer ties with the travel trade, all with an open mind on what can be achieved in the future.
